Falling on Deaf ears (Part 1)

A walks through the train station, headphones in, backpack on, bag in hand. His name is Musa (Moo-sah).

As he looks at the big board waiting for his train to appear to let him know which track it will be on, he looks down and sees someone. A woman. He sees girls all the time, but this one, this one is different. He’s so hesitant to approach her. Wanting to so badly, but afraid of how she’ll react to him.

He eyes open wide, he unzips bag and takes out his notebook. He pulls out a pen and writes super fast. The women is looking down in her phone, headphones in. A tap on the shoulder cause her to look up and behind her.

Must stands behind her, a nervous smile on his face. He hands her a folded piece of paper.

She stares at him cautiously as she unfolds the paper.

It reads:

“I know this is kinda random but, my name is Musa. I’m deaf. I wasn’t sure of any other way to talk to you without being more awkward or weird than this was. I guess this is hello annnnnnd i’d like some of your time to get to know you and take you out, if thats cool with you.”

The paper is filled with cross out’s as well, showing his errors.

The woman smiles at the paper and turns back toward Musa who’s looking up and around the station. She types in her notes app and shows him the screen.

“My name is Nyla :). Thank U for the kind words Musa.”

She hands him her phone, suggesting to him to put his number in her phone. As he grabs her phone to do just that the big board changes showing their train designations. She sees her train come up and eagerly waits for Musa to finish.

He looks up finished, Nyla smiles and grabs her phone. They awkwardly exchange goodbye’s as she runs toward her train. Musa, unable to get her info as ell hangs his head. What if she forgets to hit him up?

He looks back up and sees the track his train is on. He walks over and gets on, standing the whole ride back home. Coming out the station he walks to his car. He feels a vibration from his phone and checks it, unable to earlier cause there wasn’t service on the train.

A text from a unsaved number:

“Hey its Nyla, sorry for leaving mad abrupt b4 was just in a rush for the train. Let me know what’s a good day for you and we can link up ttyl”

Musa’s frown turns into a large growing smiles as he gets into his car.
